NEET 2017: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a single entrance test conducted for admissions to approximately 52,305 MBBS and BDS seats in the country. As per a Supreme Courts directive in 2016, NEET has replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) as well as all state level medical entrance tests and will now enable admission to all government, private and deemed medical and dental colleges/universities across the country. NEET 2017 will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in a pen and paper based mode on the first Sunday of May, 2017, tentatively. Candidates who wish to appear in NEET 2017 can check below for the eligibility criteria, exam pattern, important dates, procedure to fill application form and result etc.
Till 2016, the Supreme Court had allowed States and Union Territories (UT) to conduct their own entrance tests. However, the court directed that the single-exam system would have to be implemented from the 2017 -18 sessions.

Where will NEET 2017 scores be accepted?
  • 15% All India Quota seats in Government medical and dental colleges in all states and UTs of India
  • 85% state quota seats for MBBS and BDS admissions in all states and UTs of India
  • MBBS and BDS seats in all private and deemed medical  colleges across the country including minority institutions such as CMC Vellore and CMC Ludhiana
  • MBBS and BDS seats in Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)
While Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts NEET 2017, admission to 15% All India Quota seats in government medical and dental colleges is filled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) through online counselling. Similarly, admission in 85% State Quota seats in government medical and dental colleges is filed by the Directorate of Medical Education for their respective states. Further, from 2017, the Directorate of Medical Education will conduct counselling for MBBS and BDS seats in private and deemed medical universities including central universities and minority institutions based on NEET 2017 merit list.

NEET Syllabus 2017: Candidates who are appearing in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET), scheduled to be conducted on May 7, 2017, tentatively, can check below for the detailed syllabus of NEET 2017.The exam conducting authority, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released NEET 2017 Syllabus for candidates to prepare thoroughly for the test. The NEET syllabus 2017 is prepared after reviewing syllabus of various state boards as well as those prepared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council Board of School Education (COBSE) and National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT). Further, NEET 2017 syllabus has been made after the recommendations from the Medical Council of India (MCI) and is strictly based on topics, chapters and subjects taught during 10+2/HSC level. This was done to establish uniformity across the country keeping in view the relevance of different areas in medical education.NEET 2017 will be conducted in a pen and paper based format. As per the exam pattern of NEET, the question booklet will consist of 180 multiple choice questions (MCQs) in 3 hours from Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. Each correct response will fetch candidates 4 marks, whereas -1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.
